Whether you have a Valentine’s date night with your significant other or a Galentine’s day with your girlfriends, amp up your look with just the right makeup.
I’ve been looking for an occasion to rock a red lip – and now is the perfect time. I recently discovered the Smashbox Cosmetics’ Be Legendary velvet finish lipstick in Legendary and it’s everything. I love this bold shade of red, and I like the finish too – it’s hydrating and a little bit glossy. Best of all, it stays in place.
For eye shadow, I used just a few simple matte shades so as not to overpower the red lip. I used the the light pink, dark brown and burgundy found in the The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony eyeshadow palette. I blended the light pink shade over my lid and the darker colors into my crease using an angled brush.
To dramatize the look, I used the Eyelure Lengthening Lashes in 115. (I also recommend the Eyelure Wispy lashes in 117 for a lighter feel and more natural look . I top it off with one coat of L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara.
For highlighter, I used the shade Eclipse from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora palette.Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora palette. I’m living for this shade – its a peachy champagne shade that really makes your skin look visibly glow-y in all types of lighting.
To contour, I used the Tarte Shape Tape in Light Neutral as well as the Anastasia Beverly Hills Light to Medium powder contour kit – The first shade in the second row is a great bronzer shade for fair skin – and a little of the product goes a long way. I love the Tarte Shape Tape because it feels so light on my skin.
To set the look, I used the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb, and Rosewater. Although it’s technically not considered a setting spray, I think it does the trick – and it’s free of harsh ingredients that a lot of setting sprays contain.
Happy Valentines Day! I hope that each of you are able to spend your day or night surrounded by the people you love.
